A 12-year-old girl in Vladivostok suffered severe facial and eye injuries after a flash-bang grenade with fragmentation effects exploded nearby. She was immediately taken to Primorsky Krai Clinical Hospital No. 2 for emergency treatment. Upon arrival, doctors diagnosed her with an eye contusion, corneal damage, and retinal swelling. Specialists from the maxillofacial surgery and ophthalmic trauma units worked to remove multiple foreign objects lodged in her face and eye.

After nearly two weeks of intensive care, her vision improved from just 10% to 80%. The medical team stabilised her condition before discharging her. She will now continue follow-up care with an ophthalmologist in her hometown.

The girl’s recovery marks a significant improvement following the explosion. Her ongoing treatment will monitor progress and address any remaining effects from the injury. Doctors have emphasised the importance of regular check-ups to ensure long-term healing.
