Several lakes and beaches in Nizhny Novgorod have been officially declared safe for swimming. Authorities have approved a number of popular spots across different districts for public use. The list includes well-known locations where residents can now enjoy unrestricted access to the water. In the Sormovo District, Lakes Lunskoye and Pestichnoye are now open for swimming without any restrictions. Both beaches of Lake Svetloyarskoye in the Sormovsky District have also received approval. Residents in the Kanavinsky District can safely swim at Lake Bolnichnoye and both beaches of Lake Sortirovochnoye.

In the Leninsky District, both beaches of Lake Silikatnoye meet sanitary standards for swimming. Additionally, swimming is permitted in the lake at the Second Stage Culture and Recreation Park on Molodyozhny Prospect. The lake in the First Stage Culture and Recreation Park on Smirnov Street in the Avtozavodsky District has been approved as well.

Rospotrebnadzor continues to monitor water quality at these and other public recreation sites in the region. However, swimming is not recommended in any water bodies not included on the approved list. The approved lakes and beaches provide residents with multiple safe options for swimming this season. Authorities will keep checking water quality to ensure ongoing safety. Only the listed locations are currently deemed suitable for public swimming.
