Octiv Explore transforms gym discovery for boutique fitness studios globally

South African gym management platform Octiv has launched a new feature called Octiv Explore. The tool turns the platform into a discovery engine for boutique and independent gyms worldwide. It already supports 1,400 gyms and over 200,000 active users across 40 countries. Octiv serves as a global fitness business management platform. It offers tools for scheduling, membership management, payments, and access control. Early backers include South African angel investors and Knife Capital, which led a Series A round in 2022.

Octiv Explore now acts as a digital storefront for every gym on the platform. Members can search for gyms, view profiles, book classes, and pay in one seamless process. The feature aims to drive more traffic and conversions for independent gyms without increasing their workload.

Mark Fawzy, founder and CEO of Octiv, highlighted the importance of independent gyms in the global fitness landscape. He stated that Octiv Explore helps these businesses operate at an enterprise level and grow their communities. The new feature expands Octiv’s role beyond management tools. It now connects gyms directly with potential members through a streamlined discovery and booking system. Independent gyms gain visibility and operational support without extra effort.
