Norway's World Cup team fuels up with 500kg of elite seafood daily
Norway’s national football team has brought 500kg of top-quality seafood to the US for the World Cup. Chef Aron Espeland will prepare four daily meals for over 60 people, including star player Erling Braut Haaland and his teammates. The menu features a wide range of Norwegian seafood. Salmon, trout, saithe, Arctic char, turbot, halibut, king crab, snow crab, and langoustines are all included. Espeland believes these dishes will provide the players with essential nutrients.
Proper nutrition is vital for peak performance. Seafood offers proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, vitamins, and minerals. These nutrients aid muscle recovery, reduce inflammation, and speed up recovery after matches.
Christian André Pettersen, Norway’s Bocuse d’Or contestant, shares this view. He considers Norwegian seafood the best in the world. With Norway holding 13 Bocuse d’Or medals to France’s 12, the competition between the two nations remains fierce. The team’s diet is designed to support their performance on the pitch. Good food also improves morale and creates a positive atmosphere. The players will rely on these high-quality meals throughout the tournament.
