Talaya Health Resort Reopens After Massive 6 Billion Ruble Transformation
The Talaya health resort officially reopened on 12 June 2023 after a full-scale renovation. The project transformed it into a modern balneological facility with advanced medical technology. Local officials attended the grand ceremony to mark the occasion. The revival of Talaya was achieved through a public-private partnership. Alexander Basanasky served as the primary investor, contributing over 6 billion rubles in total. More than 1 billion rubles went towards state-of-the-art medical equipment.
The renovated resort now accommodates 320 guests. It includes four accommodation buildings, a children’s wing with 85 beds, and an open-air thermal pool. Additional facilities feature a year-round ice rink, a tennis court, and an agricultural complex.
Governor Sergei Nosov of Magadan Oblast stressed the social value of restoring the resort. Sergei Smirnov, Chairman of the Magadan City Duma, also spoke about its importance for residents. Petr Burmistrov, First Deputy Chairman, highlighted the resort’s positive effect on regional public health. The reopening introduces a cutting-edge health destination to the region. Its modern medical facilities and leisure amenities are now available to visitors. The project marks a significant step in improving local infrastructure and wellbeing.
