Dr. Schneider Takes Helm at LVR Clinic's Gerontopsychiatry Department

Dr. Schneider has been appointed as the new chief physician of the Department of Gerontopsychiatry at LVR Clinic Mönchengladbach. His career spans decades of psychiatric expertise, with a focus on tailored patient care and interdisciplinary collaboration. Dr. Schneider began his academic path at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where he studied sociology, media studies, and art history. He later completed his medical degree and specialist training in psychiatry and psychotherapy at LVR Clinic Düsseldorf.

As a senior physician, he worked in general psychiatry, treating conditions such as psychotic disorders. He also contributed to developing innovative care models. At Oberberg Fachklinik Düsseldorf Kaarst, he served as lead senior physician, specialising in young adults and treatment-resistant depression.

His approach prioritises teamwork across professional groups. He plans to expand outpatient and home-based services, building on existing programmes like MentivO and the clinic’s home treatment initiative. Dr. Schneider will now lead the gerontopsychiatry department at LVR Clinic Mönchengladbach. His experience in diverse psychiatric fields and commitment to patient-focused care are expected to shape the department’s future direction. The role will see him further refine specialised treatments for older adults.
