New polyclinic and 59 modern hospitals transform regional healthcare access

The regional capital is set to open a new polyclinic this year. It will handle up to 500 patient visits per shift. This is part of a wider push to upgrade healthcare services across the area. Since its establishment, the region has commissioned 149 new healthcare facilities. Under the Modernization of Rural Healthcare project, 59 medical institutions have been built and 13 have undergone major renovations. This year, newly reconstructed central district hospitals in Panfilov, Kerbulak, and Aksu districts, along with the regional children’s hospital in Taldykorgan, will start operating.

Modernisation efforts have covered 93% of medical equipment in the region’s healthcare facilities. Some 63.8% of the medical infrastructure has been updated, with most improvements occurring in rural areas. In the past year alone, 29 new ambulances and 165 units of advanced medical equipment were acquired.

The healthcare system employs over 8,000 medical workers. Doctors regularly receive advanced training at leading clinics in Turkey, Germany, and Russia. To strengthen the workforce, 153 young specialists have been attracted to the region over 2024–2025, with 57 moving to rural areas and 96 to cities. Additionally, 47 doctors have been provided with service housing, and 151 specialists have received residency training grants. The new polyclinic and upgraded hospitals will expand access to medical care. The region’s focus on modern equipment and trained staff aims to improve service quality. These changes reflect ongoing investment in healthcare infrastructure.
