Kazakhstan Honours Top Medical Institutions in Prestigious Astana Ceremony

Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Health has honoured top medical institutions in a ceremony held in Astana. The event took place at the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation to mark Medical Workers’ Day. Awards were given to organisations excelling in healthcare quality, innovation, and patient care. The competition aimed to highlight institutions leading in healthcare standards. It assessed performance in quality of care, management efficiency, technology adoption, and patient-focused services. Health Minister Akmural Alnazarova stated that the awards recognise those setting new benchmarks for the sector.

Several institutions received top honours. Almaty’s City Emergency and Urgent Care Hospital was named Best Hospital. Almaty City Polyclinic No. 17 took the title of Best Polyclinic of 2025. Turkestan Regional Emergency Medical Service was awarded Best Emergency Medical Station, while Zhas Asyl, linked to Polyclinic No. 2 in Semey, won Best Youth Health Center.

The Ministry of Health hopes the awards will encourage competition and the sharing of best practices. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernise Kazakhstan’s healthcare system. The ceremony celebrated achievements in healthcare delivery and innovation. Winning institutions will serve as examples for others in the field. The Ministry aims to use these awards to drive further improvements across the country’s medical services.
