Free heart-healthy cooking demos kick off in February 2024

The North Regional Health and Wellness Center will host a series of heart-healthy meal demos in February 2024. These events aim to help attendees prepare meals that reduce hypertension. Registration is required to join any of the sessions. The first demo, Meal Prep 101, takes place on Thursday, February 8, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. It will introduce basic techniques for preparing healthy meals in advance.

The second session, Cooking for Kids, is scheduled for Tuesday, February 13, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult for this event.

The final demo, Hands-On Cooking, runs on Thursday, February 29, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Each attendee at all sessions will receive free food samples, recipe cards, and educational handouts. All three demos are open to registered participants only. Attendees will leave with practical knowledge, recipes, and materials to support heart-healthy eating. The centre encourages early sign-up to secure a spot.
