Free first aid training day empowers volunteers in Arnsberg and Sundern

The city of Arnsberg and the town of Sundern are organising a free first aid training day for volunteers. The event, supported by the Zonta Club Arnsberg, will take place on Saturday, July 4, at the Bürgerbahnhof Arnsberg. It is designed for those involved in the 'Die Schaukel' project, which aids local families in need. The workshop runs from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM and focuses on practical emergency measures for both adults and children. Pediatric emergencies will receive special attention. Participants will engage in hands-on exercises, including the use of an infant mannequin for realistic practice.

'Die Schaukel' was launched in early 2005 by the Zonta Club Arnsberg. It provides early, unbureaucratic, and compassionate support to families facing daily challenges. The project is entirely volunteer-driven, with local coordinators from Arnsberg and Sundern acting as the primary contacts for families and helpers.

Attendees will receive an official certificate meeting DGUV standards. This certification is valid for accident insurance purposes but does not apply to driver’s licence requirements. Those interested in volunteering can sign up directly with the project coordinators. Further details are available at www.zonta-ourwebsite.de/en/projects/the-swing/ The training offers essential skills for volunteers working with families in the region. It strengthens the support network of 'Die Schaukel' by equipping participants with certified first aid knowledge. The initiative reflects the ongoing commitment of local authorities and the Zonta Club to community welfare.
