Kazakhstan Delivers 318 Tons of Aid and Medical Teams to Afghanistan

Kazakhstan has sent a large shipment of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan. The cargo, weighing 318.8 metric tons, was dispatched on the orders of the country’s leader to support the Afghan people. A team of nine Kazakhstani doctors is also providing medical assistance in the region. The aid includes essential medications, medical supplies, 300 tons of sugar, 100 summer tents, and bedding. It was transported by train and air, with coordination handled by KazAID, Kazakhstan’s international development agency.

The doctors will offer consultations, hands-on medical care, and training workshops for Afghan healthcare workers. Kazakhstan sees Afghanistan as a key partner in South and Central Asia and prioritises support for its people.

The UN Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals for Central Asia and Afghanistan will oversee cooperation efforts. Its main goals are to strengthen ties with international organisations and advance the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The shipment and medical mission aim to address urgent needs in Afghanistan. The aid and training are part of Kazakhstan’s broader commitment to regional stability and development. The initiative reflects ongoing efforts to support Afghan communities through practical assistance.
