The honour was announced on World Blood Donor Day, highlighting the society’s dedication to community service. By 6 June 2023, more than 500,000 people in Kuwait had donated blood and platelets. Tamu Society Kuwait has consistently organised blood donation drives for the Nepali community. These efforts have secured its position among the most active donor groups in the nation. The society’s former president, Khop Gurung, received special recognition for his contributions to community service.

The Ministry of Health presented the awards during World Blood Donor Day. Officials described blood donation as a vital act that saves lives and fosters unity.
