An online parent-teacher conference took place in Syktyvkar to mark the International Day Against Drug Abuse. The event centred on preventing drug and substance abuse among schoolchildren. Over 5,000 educators and parents joined through 500 connections. The conference was organised by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Komi. They partnered with the Komi Republican Institute for Educational Development to host the session.

Experts shared practical advice with parents on spotting warning signs of substance use. They also explained how to identify at-risk behaviour and the potential consequences of drug involvement. Discussions covered ways to prevent teenagers from engaging in illegal drug trafficking.

Speaker Leonid Moskalev highlighted the need to keep children involved in positive activities. He stressed that meaningful engagement could help steer them away from harmful influences. The conference provided clear guidance on drug prevention and early intervention. More than 5,000 participants gained knowledge to support children in staying safe. The event reinforced collaboration between schools and families on this critical issue.
