Pacific State Medical University recently held its graduation ceremony for the 55th group of preventive medicine specialists. The event brought together leaders from Rospotrebnadzor, regional healthcare experts, and university faculty. Rector Kirill Stegniy delivered a welcoming speech to the graduates. Stegniy began by thanking parents and educators for their support. He reminded the graduates that the university would always welcome them back. In his address, he stressed the importance of their training in preventive medicine, calling it a strategic field.
He explained that these specialists focus on stopping illness before it starts, rather than treating it later. Their expertise covers epidemiology, hygiene, toxicology, and healthcare management. Stegniy also urged them to speak out against any breaches of sanitary standards.
He noted that prevention remains a key topic at all levels, from public discussions to presidential speeches. The rector emphasised that graduates now carry a critical responsibility in safeguarding public health. The ceremony marked the start of a new chapter for the graduates. Their skills in disease prevention are expected to play a vital role in healthcare. The university’s support and their specialised training will guide them in their future work.
