Magadan study reveals how Omega-3 fish oil boosts teen health in the Arctic
A scientific study in Magadan has examined the effects of Omega-3 fish oil on adolescent health. The research was carried out by experts from the Arctic Research Center of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. It found that a 1.5-month course of Nord Mile RTG fish oil Kids improved teenagers' well-being in several ways. The study focused on adolescents in the Far North. It concluded that taking Magadan-produced Omega supplements during critical periods could reduce stress, improve concentration, and enhance sleep quality. Researchers then proposed a regional program, ‘Adaptation of Northern Adolescents’, to be funded by the government.
Pyotr Golubovsky, a deputy of the Magadan Regional Duma, supported the findings. He is now preparing an appeal to the regional government to secure funding for the initiative in the next budget. The Omega-Si plant in Magadan, which produces the supplements, has an annual capacity of 2,000 tons of refined fish oil and up to 200 tons of re-esterified triglycerides from wild-caught fish. The study highlights the potential benefits of Omega-3 fish oil for teenagers in the region. The proposed program aims to make these supplements more accessible. Funding decisions will determine whether the initiative moves forward in the coming year.
