Yakutsk hosts free trial of Steplife's cutting-edge bionic knee unit

A free trial of the Steplife B5 bionic knee unit has begun in Yakutsk. The event, launched on 5 June 2026, is a collaboration between Steplife and Salyut-Orto. It marks the start of a wider testing programme across the Far East region. The two-week trial will assess the latest Steplife B5 bionic knee unit. This model features rotational hydraulics and microprocessor control. Participants will test its reliability, functionality, and ease of use in daily life.

The evaluation will cover mobility, comfort, and performance on various surfaces. Tests will include flat ground, inclines, stairs, and physical exercises. Sessions will run daily at 2 Morozov Lane, Yakutsk, under supervision by the Erel Rehabilitation and Prosthetics Center.

This trial is part of a regional tour spanning Kamchatka, Khabarovsk, Vladivostok, Chita, Blagoveshchensk, and Yakutsk. CEO Ivan Khudyakov called it a key priority for Steplife. The project also falls under Steplife’s grant-funded initiative, the Steplife B7, supported by Skolkovo’s TechnoVostok programme.
