Navi Mumbai's healthcare revolution begins with new medical facilities
Ganesh Naik, Maharashtra Forest Minister, inaugurated a range of advanced medical facilities across Navi Mumbai on Monday. The new services mark a significant expansion of NMMC’s health programme, bringing specialised care to local residents. A new Urban Primary Health Centre was opened in Mahape. At Maasaheb Meenatai Thackeray Hospital in Nerul, a Human Milk Bank began operations. A veterinary hospital also launched in Sector 24, Juinagar.
Vashi Public Hospital saw multiple upgrades. An MRI Centre and a Central Sterile Services Department were inaugurated. The hospital’s mortuary received a modern modular upgrade. Additionally, a 50-bed dialysis centre was opened at Swami Vivekanand Cultural Hall in Sector 14, Vashi.
Work started on Advanced Bi-Plane and Single-Plane Cath Labs at Vashi and Airoli hospitals. NMMC also introduced an online Hospital Bed Availability Dashboard to provide real-time information on bed availability. The new facilities include MRI centres, Cath Labs, dialysis centres, a veterinary hospital, and a milk bank. These additions aim to improve access to specialised healthcare in Navi Mumbai. The online dashboard will help residents track hospital bed availability more easily.
