BD India and HOPE Foundation empower 264 graduates with job-ready skills
BD India/South Asia and the HOPE Foundation have been running a skills training programme since 2018. The initiative helps young adults from low-income backgrounds gain qualifications in fields like Tally and Nursing Assistant. It recently celebrated the graduation of 264 students in its eighth year. The programme supports students who have passed 10th class and demonstrate financial need. Over 2,200 individuals have completed the courses since the partnership began. More than 80% of graduates have found jobs, with most participants being women.
The Nursing Assistant course includes six months of on-the-job training in well-known hospitals. All students also receive instruction in basic English, life skills, and practical sessions. The courses aim to improve employability and provide hands-on experience.
BD, a leading global medical technology company, has long supported education, health, and environmental initiatives in the region. The company and the HOPE Foundation have now agreed to extend their collaboration for a ninth year. They plan to train 320 more young people in Nursing Assistant, Tally, and Advanced Excel + SQL courses. The partnership has already upskilled thousands of young adults in India and South Asia. The next phase will expand training opportunities to include new subjects. The goal remains to help more students secure stable employment.
