Toman Becomes 57th Alcohol-Free Village in Atyrau Region

Toman, a village in the Isatay District, has become the 57th alcohol-free settlement in the Atyrau Region. The decision was made after discussions with local residents about crime prevention, public safety, and healthy living. The village is mainly home to railway workers. It has a school, a kindergarten, and a cultural centre. Residents say the peaceful atmosphere comes from working closely with their local police officer and tackling community problems together.

Toman has recorded no crimes in the past five years. This track record played a part in the choice to ban alcohol in the settlement. The new alcohol-free status follows a meeting with locals.
