Aboca appoints Jan Linnemann to lead German expansion in herbal medicine

Italian health company Aboca has named Jan Linnemann as its new Country Manager for Germany. The appointment comes as the firm continues its rapid growth in the country's herbal medicine and supplement market. Aboca, a certified Benefit Corporation, combines business success with a strong commitment to sustainability and social responsibility.

Aboca was founded in 1978 and operates from its headquarters in a small Tuscan town. The company specialises in natural health products, handling everything from research and development to full production in-house. It also cultivates around 70 medicinal plants across 1,200 hectares of organic-certified land.

Linnemann took up his role in mid-January, bringing over 14 years of experience from Medice, where he last worked in senior management. Before that, he served as the fourth managing director at Quiris, leading marketing and sales. He has also worked as an independent consultant in the healthcare sector. Since launching its German subsidiary, Aboca Deutschland GmbH, in October 2016, the company has seen steady revenue growth. Turnover rose from roughly €5 million in the first year to an expected €25 million by 2025. During the same period, its market share in herbal medicines and supplements climbed from under 1% to around 4-5%.

Linnemann will now oversee Aboca's continued expansion in Germany. The company aims to strengthen its position in the natural health market while maintaining its focus on organic farming and sustainable production. His leadership follows a period of significant growth for the brand in the country.
