The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal has launched an awareness campaign to track unknown side effects of medicines. Organised by the department of pharmacology, the drive aims to improve healthcare safety by identifying previously unreported reactions to drugs. The campaign took place in Obaidullaganj, located in Madhya Pradesh’s Raisen district. During the event, AIIMS Bhopal highlighted that common medicine side effects can include allergies, dizziness, vomiting, and weakness. Officials stressed the importance of reporting these issues promptly to prevent harm to other patients.

To make reporting easier, the institute introduced multiple options. A toll-free helpline, printed consumer forms, and a dedicated mobile app were all provided. The app was described as a simple, user-friendly way for patients to submit their experiences. The initiative is part of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India (PvPI), which encourages public participation. By collecting more data, the programme hopes to detect rare or overlooked reactions that could affect future treatment safety.

The campaign urged people to report any unusual symptoms after taking medication. Through the helpline, forms, and app, patients can now share their experiences quickly. This effort will help healthcare providers update safety guidelines and reduce risks for others using the same drugs.
