Allegheny Health Network's Behavioral Health Institute Relocates to Modern Pittsburgh Facility

Allegheny Health Network’s Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Institute has relocated to a new space in Pittsburgh. The move comes after more than 30 years at its previous location. The upgraded facility officially opens to patients on May 11—during Mental Health Awareness Month. The institute now occupies the third floor of the Federal North building on the North Side. This places it next to other health departments, making collaboration and patient care more seamless.

The new space features modern improvements, including better lighting, new furniture, and upgraded heating and air conditioning. Warm colours and inviting artwork create a more welcoming environment for patients. A highlight of the move is the upgraded Austin’s Playroom for children, donated by the Mario Lemieux Foundation. Longtime staff, such as Dr. Anthony Mannarino, the institute’s chair, and Dr. Gary Swanson, a child psychiatrist, have also transitioned to the new location.

Patients will begin receiving care at the new facility on May 11. The relocation aims to enhance comfort and efficiency for both staff and visitors. The updated setting reflects a commitment to improved mental health services in the region.
