American food delivery habits shifted sharply in 2025, with consumers prioritising nutrition and convenience. Orders for protein-rich foods, hydrating drinks, and quick meals saw significant growth across the country.
Grocery deliveries surged by 209% compared to 2024, reflecting a strong demand for pantry staples. Egg orders alone rose by 58%, with the sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich becoming the most popular restaurant egg dish. Bean deliveries also climbed by 135%, totaling over 1.5 tons nationwide.
Convenience foods gained traction as well. Over 750 chicken nuggets, tenders, and strips were ordered every hour, while grab-and-go items like taquitos, chicken rollers, and hot dogs saw increased demand. Tinned fish orders tripled, further highlighting the trend toward shelf-stable proteins.
Hydration and energy-boosting drinks also played a key role. Monthly deliveries of electrolyte drinks exceeded 76,000, and cold foam coffee orders jumped by 75%. Despite these spikes, no single U.S. city dominated the top rankings for nuggets, coffee, or egg orders.
The 2025 data reveals a clear preference for nutrient-dense, easy-to-prepare foods. Grocery and restaurant orders both reflected this shift, with protein, hydration, and convenience driving consumer choices. The trend suggests lasting changes in how Americans approach food delivery.
