Andheri electrician dies by suicide amid family property dispute

A 24-year-old electrician died by suicide in Andheri East on Thursday. Vishal Gupta, a resident of Chakala, was found hanging at a relative’s home. Police have registered an accidental death report (ADR) following the incident. Gupta’s relatives discovered his body hanging from a ceiling hook, secured with a bedsheet. They immediately contacted the police. Officers arrived at the scene and sent the body to Cooper Hospital in Vile Parle West for a post-mortem.

The investigation suggests a possible link to a family property dispute. After the autopsy, authorities released the body to Gupta’s family for final rites. Gupta worked as an electrician and lived in the Chakala area of Andheri East. The incident took place at a relative’s residence, where he was staying at the time.

The Andheri police have recorded the case as an accidental death. The post-mortem was completed before the body was returned to the family. Further details on the cause of death remain under investigation.
