Armonie Banks has been named the new Residential Medical Coordinator for The Point/Arc. She will oversee all medical care for residents in the organisation’s homes. Her appointment follows years of experience in healthcare and support roles at the same facility. Banks began her career 16 years ago, starting as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at The Point/Arc. While working there, she attended nursing school for two years. In 2024, she completed her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) programme.

Her daily routine starts early. She leaves her home in Independence at 7 a.m. to drop off her two-year-old daughter at day care in Cincinnati. Banks then works a five-day schedule from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., though she remains on call for emergencies during evenings and weekends. Raised in the area, Banks graduated from Princeton High School, where she also played volleyball. At just 11 years old, she took on the responsibility of caring for her grandmother, who had cancer. Now, as a single mother, she balances her professional duties with raising her daughter, whose birthday falls on February 4.

In her new role, Banks will manage all medical needs for residents in The Point/Arc’s residential homes. Her background in direct support and nursing prepares her for the position. The organisation now relies on her expertise to ensure quality care for those in its programmes.
