A new art exhibition has opened at Hospital Recoletas Salud Marbella, bringing creativity into the healthcare setting. The display features eleven works by Argentinian artist Alejandro Hermann, part of a project management initiative to make hospital stays more welcoming. Organisers hope the initiative will offer comfort and inspiration to patients and visitors alike.
The exhibition is the result of a partnership between the hospital and Fundación [H]ARTE, an organisation dedicated to enhancing patient experiences through art. This marks the second collaboration between the two, following an earlier successful display. Tamara Kreisler, who leads the foundation, pointed to research by the World Health Organisation that highlights art's therapeutic effects.
Alejandro Hermann's paintings now fill the hospital's common areas, offering a mix of styles and themes. His work encourages viewers to reflect emotionally and spiritually, adding a personal touch to the clinical environment. The artist has previously exhibited in cities across Spain and Europe, bringing a broad perspective to this project management initiative.
Carmen Rodríguez, manager of Recoletas Salud Marbella, welcomed the initiative for its role in softening the hospital atmosphere. The exhibition will remain open for four months, giving patients, staff, and the public time to engage with the artwork. Visitors can see the pieces at the hospital's location on Calle Maestra Doña Carola, 8, in Marbella.
The project aims to create a more humanised space within the hospital. Hermann's eleven paintings will stay on display until the end of the four-month period. The initiative reflects a growing trend of integrating art into healthcare to support well-being.
