Astana's New Center Transforms Autism Support for Children and Families
Astana’s Psychological and Pedagogical Correction Center No. 5 recently hosted an open day focused on autism and children’s mental health. The event gave parents insights into their children’s psychological needs and ways to communicate effectively. Staff at the centre have completed advanced training to support these efforts. The centre opened just a year ago and now serves between 150 and 200 children annually. Its 625-square-metre facility includes 10 specialised rooms, all equipped with modern teaching and developmental tools. These spaces meet European standards and support sensory integration programs.
Since its launch, 141 children have completed correction programs at the centre. Each child receives a personalised development plan, tailored to their unique needs. A team of qualified specialists—including speech therapists, special education teachers, and psychologists—designs these plans. The correction rooms are staffed by experts from different fields. Every specialist adjusts their methods to match the psychological requirements of each child. This individualised approach ensures targeted support for children with special educational needs.
The open day highlighted the centre’s commitment to professional training and modern facilities. Parents left with practical strategies for engaging with their children’s mental health. The centre continues to expand its services, reinforcing its role in supporting children with special needs.
