Augsburg's Free Outdoor Fitness Program Opens to All This Summer
Augsburg has launched a free outdoor fitness program open to everyone from 1 June to 2 October. The initiative aims to encourage physical activity while making exercise accessible to all residents. No sign-up is needed to join the sessions. The program is run by Augsburg’s Public Health Department and Gesundheitsregionplus. It offers over 150 classes across eight municipal green spaces. Activities range from yoga and back exercises to high-intensity workouts, catering to different fitness levels.
New this year are low-intensity morning classes designed for older adults. Qualified instructors lead every session, ensuring beginners feel welcome. The initiative also receives support from Techniker Krankenkasse, helping to expand its reach.
With no registration required, the program removes barriers to participation. Classes will continue until early October, providing a variety of options for residents. The organisers hope to see strong community involvement throughout the summer.
