Carlo Aquino's on-set health scare reveals dangers of untreated high blood pressure

Actor Carlo Aquino faced a health scare while filming A Special Memory in 2023. During an intense scene, his high blood pressure became so severe that co-star Bela Padilla saw him nearly pass out. The production team quickly intervened to stabilise his condition before sending him home for recovery.

The incident unfolded as Aquino performed a demanding scene where he had to break a plate. His lips turned pale, prompting director Jerry Sineneng to halt filming immediately. The crew checked his blood pressure and administered medication on set.

Aquino, known for his love of meat and strong coffee, had been pushing through long shooting hours. After the scare, he took time to recover but soon returned to work. By 2024, he starred in the indie film Konsiyerto and the TV series Linlang Season 2. His comeback continued with the 2025 movie Haring Daga and, more recently, the ongoing 2026 series Lumuhod ka sa Lupa.

The on-set medical intervention ensured Aquino's safety during the 2023 incident. Since then, he has resumed acting, taking on multiple projects across film and television. His return to the industry followed a brief recovery period after the health scare.
