€10,000 Donation Supports Families of Mentally Ill Children in Freiburg

A €10,000 donation has been handed to the Freiburger Vereinigung zur Hilfe für psychisch kranke Kinder und Jugendliche to assist families in need. The funds were raised at the annual Tafelberg Event in Emmendingen, which drew around 4,000 visitors. Local initiatives, including motorcycle clubs and charity restaurant events, also boosted the total amount.

The donation was presented by Mehr Raum für Kinder gGmbH, a nonprofit organisation committed to supporting vulnerable children. The association has worked for decades to fund therapeutic and supportive measures not covered by health insurance or youth welfare services. Demand for such extra help remains high, as many families struggle with gaps in standard care.

The money will provide fast, unbureaucratic aid to affected families. Part of it will also fund the construction of new day clinics for child and adolescent psychiatry in southern Baden. Organisers credited the success of the fundraising to strong community involvement, with volunteers playing a key role in making the event possible.

The donation will directly benefit families with mentally ill children and teenagers in Freiburg. It also supports ongoing efforts to expand psychiatric care facilities in the region. Improved access to day clinics and supplementary services remains a priority for local health providers.
