Facebook's AI Health Coach launches with personalised wellness tracking on 19 May

A new AI-powered health tool is launching soon. The Facebook Health Coach will offer personalised wellness guidance to users worldwide from 19 May 2023. It combines advanced technology with flexible tracking to support fitness, nutrition, and mental wellbeing. The Coach uses Google’s Gemini models and a SHARP evaluation system to deliver safe, accurate, and tailored advice. It adapts to individual needs by analysing fitness metrics, sleep patterns, nutrition, environmental factors, and medical records. Users can log data through voice notes, images, or documents for workouts, meals, and health records.

Workout guidance includes step-by-step instructions, dynamic routines, and visual demonstrations. The service also features cycle tracking, nutrition planning, and mental health support. In the U.S., it will sync with medical records for deeper personalisation. At launch, the Coach will work with Fitbit and Pixel Watch devices, with broader compatibility arriving later. It is part of Facebook Health Premium, costing $9.99 monthly or $99 annually. Subscribers to Facebook AI Pro and Ultra tiers will access it for free. Non-eligible users can still download the app and receive alerts when their devices are supported.

The Facebook Health Coach rolls out globally on 19 May 2023. It integrates AI-driven insights with flexible data tracking to help users manage health goals. The service will expand device support after its initial release.
