Firefly Neurosciences Teams With U.S. Military to Revolutionize PTSD and TBI Care

Firefly Neurosciences has partnered with the U.S. Department of War to improve PTSD and TBI care for service members. The deal, announced on March 26, 2026, will deploy the company's AI-driven EEG technology across military healthcare programs. While specific details remain confidential, the collaboration builds on earlier work with the U.S. Naval Medical Center at Camp Lejeune. The partnership focuses on diagnosing and treating PTSD and TBI in active-duty personnel and veterans. Firefly's FDA-cleared EEG platform provides objective neurological data, helping clinicians make more precise assessments. The technology also supports personalised treatment plans and tracks outcomes over time.

Between 2000 and 2021, over 444,300 U.S. service members received at least one TBI diagnosis, according to the RAND Corporation. PTSD alone imposes a $42.7 billion economic burden on the military, part of a wider $232.2 billion national cost. Firefly's platform could also extend to other conditions, including depression, dementia, and ADHD.

Greg Lipschitz, Firefly's CEO, noted the company's strong position to benefit from rising government investment in military brain health. Dave DeCaprio, President and COO, added that the deal aligns with Firefly's mission to deliver advanced tools to those in greatest need. The agreement marks a key step in expanding the company's reach into defence and government health sectors. The partnership will integrate Firefly's EEG technology into military healthcare systems, though exact program details remain undisclosed. The move aims to enhance diagnostic accuracy and treatment monitoring for PTSD and TBI. For Firefly, it opens a significant commercial channel within the U.S. defence sector.
