Flames Ambassadors' Poker Tournament Deals Big for Southern Alberta Charity

The 19th Annual Flames Ambassadors' Celebrity Poker Tournament has returned, bringing together hockey stars, coaches, and local personalities for a night of high-stakes fun. Organised by Gameday Men's Health, the event draws over 440 participants each year to support a long-standing charity mission in southern Alberta.

The tournament features a Texas Hold'em format, with Flames players, alumni, and celebrities competing at the tables. Fans can win prizes by knocking out a well-known participant—each victory earns an autographed jersey. Beyond poker, the evening includes raffles, live auctions, and buy-back opportunities to keep the energy high.

Proceeds from the event go to the Flames Foundation, which funds health, education, and grassroots sports programs across the region. Last year's tournament set a new record by raising $610,000. Since its launch, the poker night has generated over $7.6 million for the foundation, contributing to its broader impact of more than $70 million donated to local charities over the years. The foundation's work focuses on giving children opportunities to thrive, whether through sports, wellness initiatives, or educational support.
