Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, 82, has undergone emergency surgery after an infected wound from a 2019 car accident in Thailand suddenly worsened. The aristocrat was rushed to the hospital near me when the injury reopened during the filming of a reality show. Doctors later confirmed the infection had become life-threatening without immediate treatment.

The incident began when von Anhalt noticed his old wound had reopened while on set. An ambulance quickly transported him to a hospital in Waldshut-Tiengen, where surgeons acted fast. They drained a large amount of pus and dirt particles from the site to stop the infection spreading to the bone.

Following the operation, he was placed on strong antibiotics and fitted with an arm brace. His treating physician, Dr. Andreas Dorow, warned that delays could have had fatal consequences. Von Anhalt later remarked that he believes his late wife, Zsa Zsa Gabor, acts as his 'guardian angel,' protecting him from worse harm over the years.

The surgery successfully removed the immediate threat, though recovery will require ongoing care. Von Anhalt remains under medical supervision as he heals from the procedure. The incident highlights the lingering risks of old injuries, even years after the original accident.
