Free online lecture explores hospice and palliative care options in Main-Rhön
The Hospice and Palliative Care Network (HPVN) Schweinfurt–Bad Kissingen–Rhön-Grabfeld is hosting a free online lecture on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Titled Hospice and Palliative Care Options, the event will run from 5:00 PM for roughly two hours. Registration is required, with attendees receiving an access link by email about a week beforehand. The lecture aims to offer clear guidance and reduce barriers for those navigating difficult situations. It is open to professionals, affected individuals, family members, and anyone interested in learning more. Experts from different services and institutions will outline the support options available across the Main-Rhön region.
For a decade, the HPVN has worked to connect stakeholders involved in the care of seriously ill and dying people. Beyond organising events and training, the network also initiates new care approaches. Recently, it commissioned and funded a needs assessment to explore the construction of an inpatient hospice. The network’s operations rely on shared funding. Statutory health insurance providers cover 50% of the coordinator’s position costs, while the governing partners of the HPVN share the remaining personnel expenses.
The online event provides an opportunity for attendees to learn about local palliative care resources. Those wishing to participate must register in advance to secure their place. The HPVN continues to expand its role in supporting individuals and families facing serious illness.
