Frozen Fruit Reaches Remote Quebec Schools Through Unique Partnership

A partnership between Lineage and Nature’s Touch has brought thousands of pounds of frozen fruit to remote schools in Quebec. The initiative aimed to improve food access in hard-to-reach communities, including Nunavik. Logistical support played a key role in making the deliveries possible. Lineage’s cold storage and transport solutions ensured the safe delivery of over 6,000 lb. of frozen strawberries. The company worked with Nature’s Touch to expand access to nutritious food for students in isolated areas. Without this support, many of these communities would have remained out of reach.

The Lineage Foundation for Good coordinated the donation through its Customer Product Donation program. Breakfast Club of Canada then handled last-mile deliveries, using planes to transport the food to schools in Nunavik. Hannah Hoskins, executive director of the foundation, highlighted Nature’s Touch for its efforts in reducing food waste while feeding communities in need. The collaboration allowed Nature’s Touch to extend its impact into regions previously difficult to serve. Schools in these areas now have better access to frozen fruits and vegetables, thanks to the combined efforts of all partners involved.

The project successfully delivered fresh produce to students in remote Quebec locations. Lineage’s logistical expertise and the foundation’s donation program made the initiative possible. Schools in Nunavik now receive regular supplies of frozen fruit, improving nutrition for children in the region.
