Germany's Heart Week 2026 turns pharmacies into lifesaving health hubs
Germany’s pharmacies will take centre stage in promoting heart health next June. The 7th Heart Week runs from 15 to 19 June 2026 under the slogan #herzenssache. The event aims to showcase pharmacies as vital local health resources for the public. During the week, pharmacies nationwide will offer free health consultations and checks. Visitors can have their blood pressure measured and calculate their personal heart age using the HerzFit app. Information on heart health, prevention, and proper emergency response will also be available.
The programme includes discussions on nutrition, exercise, smoking cessation, and medication management. Special attention will be given to gender differences in heart attack symptoms, particularly atypical signs in women. The German Heart Foundation will supply extra materials for visitors to take home.
Heart disease remains a major cause of death in Germany. Saxony-Anhalt reports especially high mortality rates from acute heart attacks. Further details on events can be found at https://www.dein-herz-und-du.de/. The initiative seeks to raise awareness of heart health through accessible, local support. Pharmacies will provide practical advice and tools to help people assess and improve their cardiovascular well-being. Free resources and expert guidance will be available throughout the week.
