Harmony Baby Nutrition is preparing to launch its first product, Melodi, in the U.S. by 2026. The company, founded by Del Alfonso, focuses on creating hypoallergenic infant formulas that closely mimic human milk. Their research-driven approach aims to address long-standing issues in the baby food industry.

Melodi stands out from traditional hypoallergenic formulas by using lactose and human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). This composition makes it nearly 50% similar to human milk. Early testing suggests infants will accept it far more readily than conventional alternatives.

The baby food sector currently struggles with problems like excessive reliance on cow’s milk and contamination risks that trigger recalls. Harmony Baby Nutrition plans to tackle these challenges through molecular nutrition—an advanced method of formula development. To support its mission, the company will open a research and development centre in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. This facility will focus on cutting-edge infant nutrition research and new product innovation.

Melodi’s launch in 2026 will mark Harmony Baby Nutrition’s entry into the U.S. market. The formula’s high similarity to human milk and improved infant acceptance could set a new standard in hypoallergenic nutrition. Meanwhile, the Brazilian R&D centre will drive further advancements in the field.
