Henkelmann recalls salami over E. coli contamination risk
Henkelmann GmbH & Co. KG has recalled several salami products due to possible contamination with Shiga toxin-producing E. coli bacteria. The affected items were sold under the Henkelmann and Küstengold brands and pose a health risk if consumed.
The recall covers specific batches of Henkelmann Salami Spianata Calabra (225g) with best-before dates between April 15, 2026, and April 22, 2026. It also includes Küstengold KG Pikante Baguette Salami (100g) with a best-before date of April 29, 2026 and lot number L 1128S2. All recalled Henkelmann products carry lot numbers ranging from 11162601 to 11367600.
Consumers are strongly advised not to eat the affected salami. Symptoms of *E. coli* infection may include diarrhoea, abdominal pain, nausea, or vomiting. Those at higher risk—such as young children, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with weakened immune systems—should be especially cautious. Customers who have bought these products can return them to stores without a receipt for a full refund. Anyone who has already eaten the salami and experiences health issues should seek medical advice immediately.
The company is taking precautions to prevent further risk. Shops will accept returns of the recalled items, and health authorities urge vigilance. Further updates will be provided if new information becomes available.
