IMSS launches digital booking for medical appointments across Mexico

Beneficiaries of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) can now book medical appointments without visiting a clinic. The process is available through a new digital system, making it easier to schedule visits from home. Three options are on offer: an app, a website, or a phone service.

The IMSS Digital app allows users to book appointments directly from their mobile devices. After downloading it from the App Store or Google Play Store, beneficiaries log in and select the 'Family Medical Appointment' option. They then choose a date, pick a time, and confirm the booking.

An online portal is also available at https://www.imss.gob.mx/medical-appointment. To use this service, users need their Unique Population Registry Code (CURP), a personal email address, their Social Security Number (NSS), and an active IMSS clinic registration. The system guides them through selecting a clinic, date, and time.

For those who prefer phone assistance, the IMSS customer service line operates at 900 681 2525. The line is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, and on weekends and holidays from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. A national call centre (800 623 2323) also supports appointment bookings.

As of March 2026, all 1,600+ IMSS clinics and hospitals across Mexico accept bookings through these digital and phone methods. The change removes the need to wait in line, saving time for patients.

The new system provides three ways to schedule IMSS medical appointments: via app, website, or phone. All clinics and hospitals in the network now support these options. Patients must have their CURP, NSS, and an active registration to complete the process.
