Dr Mahak Bhandari has made medical history by performing India’s first successful tele-robotic hernia surgery. The procedure was carried out remotely, showcasing a major advancement in surgical technology. His work has earned him recognition as a pioneer in minimally invasive techniques. Dr Bhandari is a specialist in robotic, laparoscopic, and bariatric metabolic surgeries. He holds a PhD in Surgery from Madhya Pradesh Medical Science University, where his research focused on comparing One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (OAGB) and Banded One Anastomosis Gastric Bypass (BOAGB) with a fixed biliopancreatic limb of 180 cm. His academic background includes training at MGM Medical College in Indore and DY Patil Medical College in Mumbai.

His latest achievement involved performing a tele-robotic surgery from a moving bus as part of the *Surgeon on Wheels* initiative. This groundbreaking approach demonstrates how remote surgery can be conducted even in mobile settings. The success of the procedure has drawn praise from Chancellor Dr Manjusree Bhandari and Founder Chairman Dr Vinod Bhandari, who highlighted his dedication and forward-thinking vision. Beyond innovation, Dr Bhandari has contributed to numerous successful surgeries in Indore and Ratlam. Currently, he serves as Managing Director of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Medical Sciences, where he continues to advance surgical practices.
