Jezkazgan's New Shabyt Center Opens Doors to Free Creative Learning for Kids

Jezkazgan welcomed a major new facility for young people on June 1. The Shabyt Children’s Creativity Center opened its doors, offering a wide range of after-school activities. Built with support from the Bulat Utemuratov Foundation, the centre aims to serve hundreds of children daily at no cost to families. The new centre covers over 2,600 square meters and provides classes in art, pottery, STEM, and music. Its modern design includes inclusive, barrier-free access, ensuring all children can participate. The facility can host up to 250 children at once, with a rotating schedule accommodating around 600 each day.

Outside, the grounds feature sports areas and playgrounds, complementing the indoor learning spaces. All after-school programmes will be free, removing financial barriers for local families. The opening follows another key development in the region. On May 30, Kengir inaugurated a new feldsher-obstetric station, funded by 416.9 million tenge from recovered assets. The clinic specialises in maternal and child health, offering preventive care with modern equipment. Meanwhile, Koskol also gained a new outdoor calisthenics park, giving children a dedicated space for regular sports activities.

The Shabyt Children’s Creativity Center now provides Jezkazgan’s youth with expanded opportunities in education, arts, and sports. Alongside the new healthcare clinic and fitness park, these projects reflect ongoing investment in community services. Both facilities are expected to serve residents long-term, with free access ensuring broad participation.
