Ko-Lab Conference Unveils Breakthroughs in Mental Health and Longevity Science

The Ko-Lab conference, a leading event in health and longevity, recently brought together top experts in the field. Over 80 specialists, including well-known figures like Elena Malysheva and Alexei Bezynanny, shared the latest research and innovations. Among them, Evalar took part in the discussions on improving mental health and extending active life. At the conference, Dr Elena Korchun, a doctor of medical sciences, focused on nutritional support for mental well-being and longevity. She highlighted the role of magnesium L-threonate, a compound with high bioavailability and proven nootropic effects. Her presentation included study results showing that daily intake of this supplement in patients aged 50–70 led to higher magnesium levels and noticeable improvements in cognitive function.

Korchun also addressed broader nutritional deficiencies affecting mental health. A 2017 global study revealed that 20–50% of people lack sufficient vitamins B1, B6, and B12, depending on the region. These vitamins are essential for producing serotonin, dopamine, and gamma-aminobutyric acid—key chemicals that regulate mood and emotional balance. Another topic covered was huperzine A, a natural compound derived from Chinese club moss. Research shows it acts as an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor and NMDA receptor antagonist, both critical for maintaining cognitive function and mental stability.

The Ko-Lab conference reinforced the link between targeted nutrition and mental health. Studies on magnesium L-threonate, B vitamins, and huperzine A provided clear evidence of their benefits for cognitive function and emotional well-being. These findings offer practical approaches for supporting active longevity in older adults.
