Magadan boosts healthcare funding with 2026 budget adjustments
The Magadan Regional Duma has approved a budget increase for the Magadan Regional Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund for 2026. The decision aims to strengthen healthcare financing in the region. Officials have highlighted the benefits of the additional revenue for local medical services. The Fund’s revenue will rise by 21.5 million rubles, bringing the total to 11.3 billion rubles. Expenditures have also climbed by 544 million rubles, reaching 11.8 billion rubles. The law additionally raises the normalised insurance reserve by 59.2 million rubles, improving budget stability.
A projected deficit of 522.6 million rubles for 2026 will be covered by unused funds from 2025. The extra money will support more stable financing for medical institutions. It will also expand access to diagnostics and ensure quicker treatment coverage for residents travelling outside the region. The budget adjustments are expected to enhance the quality of medical care for Kolyma’s residents. The increased insurance reserve will make the Fund’s finances more secure. First deputy chairman Andrey Zykov noted the positive impact of the additional revenue on the Fund’s operations.
