Man rescued from Goldberg Lake after nighttime distress call
A 27-year-old man was pulled from Goldberg Lake in Heusenstamm early on Wednesday. Emergency services responded to his call for help at around 12:30 a.m. after he found himself stranded in the water, unable to reach the shore alone.
The man’s location was pinpointed by police using his phone’s flashlight and his shouts for assistance. He had drifted beneath a tree in a secluded part of the lake. Firefighters then launched a technical rescue operation, deploying a dinghy and a drone to reach him safely.
Once located, rescuers brought the man to shore by boat. He showed clear signs of hypothermia and was visibly weakened by the ordeal. Paramedics immediately transported him to a nearby medical facility for further treatment. Authorities have yet to clarify why the man entered the water at night or how he ended up in that situation.
The rescue involved coordinated efforts from police, firefighters, and medical teams. The man’s condition after the incident remains under observation. Investigations into the circumstances leading to his distress are ongoing.
