NAMI Talks Hosts Bipolar Disorder Awareness Event for World Bipolar Day

A special talk on bipolar disorder will take place in March as part of NAMI Talks. The event marks World Bipolar Day and aims to raise awareness about the condition. Two speakers will share their insights and personal experiences on the topic. The session will cover key areas such as living with bipolar disorder, psychoeducation, and treatment options. Attendees will also learn about assessment methods, lifespan considerations, and long-term prognosis.

Reed Semedo-Strauss, a NAMI NoVA Peer Volunteer, will speak about his own journey with bipolar disorder. His firsthand account will offer a personal perspective on managing the condition. Joining him is Melissa Tennyson, Psy.D., a licensed clinical psychologist.
