New Peer Support Group Offers Hope for Adults Battling Depression

A new peer support group for adults with depression is starting at the Quirlsberg Health Campus in Bergisch Gladbach. The initiative aims to create a safe space for sharing experiences and understanding the challenges of living with depression. Founded by someone with firsthand experience, the group will focus on mutual support and personal exchange.

The group is open to adults with a diagnosed or suspected depression. Meetings will be held regularly on Thursday evenings at the Clinic for Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Psychosomatic Medicine at EVK, located at Ferrenbergstraße 24.

Participants will work together to develop new perspectives, strengthen coping skills, and build mutual understanding. The emphasis is on creating an environment where individuals can openly discuss their struggles and find support from others facing similar challenges. Those interested in attending the founding meeting can reach out to Daniela Markwart, head of the Self-Help Group Coordination Office at the Quirlsberg Health Campus, via email for further details.

The group provides a structured opportunity for people with depression to connect and share their experiences. By focusing on personal exchange and coping strategies, it seeks to offer practical support to participants. Regular meetings will begin at the EVK clinic in Bergisch Gladbach.
