New Saskatchewan Wellness Centre Offers Nature-Based Healing for Mental Health
A new wellness centre focused on mental health and addiction treatment is set to open in Fort Qu'Appelle, Saskatchewan. The Calling Lakes Wellness Centre will offer a peaceful, nature-based setting for recovery. Officials hope it will provide a much-needed retreat for those struggling with mental health challenges and substance use. The centre will roll out its services in three stages. First, online treatment options will become available. Next, the organisation will begin accepting referrals. Finally, the physical facility is expected to open in late summer.
The location in Fort Qu'Appelle was chosen for its natural surroundings. The aim is to give people a break from daily pressures so they can focus fully on healing. While details on bed capacity or specific staffing remain unclear, the centre plans to offer a range of support.
Programmes will include counselling, gym access, yoga, massages, and educational lectures. Steve Low, the centre's chief operating officer, wants those in need to know help is available. He has emphasised that recovery is possible and encouraged people to reach out for support. The Calling Lakes Wellness Centre will provide structured treatment for addiction and mental health. Its phased opening begins with online services before the full facility launches. The organisation's goal is to create a supportive space where individuals can step away from daily stress and focus on healing.
