Nizhny Novgorod expands free preventive healthcare with new Health Center

A new Health Center has opened at City Polyclinic No. 30 in Nizhny Novgorod’s Sovetskiy District. This marks the second such facility launched in the region this year, following the first in late May. Local officials and residents have already begun using its services. The first Health Center debuted in late May at Polyclinic No. 4 in the Kanavinsky District. It offered free screenings under compulsory health insurance, covering lung and vascular checks, as well as body composition analysis.

The latest centre at Polyclinic No. 30 expands these services. It now includes programs to assess risks of premature ageing and chronic diseases. Skin cancer screenings, including mole checks, are also available. After examinations, specialists provide tailored advice on diet, exercise, and disease prevention.

Yury Balashov, a member of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Legislative Assembly, was among the first to use the new services. His participation highlights the growing interest in these preventive healthcare options. The next phase in the region’s preventive medicine expansion will be the opening of a Healthy Longevity Center in Nizhny Novgorod. These centres aim to improve early detection and personalised health support for residents. More facilities are expected to follow as the initiative grows.
