Nonprofit Expands Mental Health Teams to Support Vulnerable Communities

Community Empowerment Resources (CER), a nonprofit behavioural health organization, is expanding its teams. The 501(c)(3) charity provides support for adults and children facing serious mental illness, homelessness, or substance use disorders. It now seeks dedicated psychiatric nurse practitioners to join its mission-driven work.

CER delivers a full range of care under one roof. Services include primary medical care, therapy, medication management, and crisis stabilization. The organization also runs Intensive Outpatient Programmes and case management for those in need.

The teams follow the Recovery Model's five principles: hope, purpose, acceptance, mutual help, and responsibility. Their approach is trauma-informed, client-centred, and inclusive. Clinicians work as independent contractors, with CER covering all credentialing costs.

Flexible scheduling is available, requiring a minimum of 12 hours per week. Practitioners can choose between telehealth or in-clinic sessions. Pay is based on hours billed to health insurance providers and state agencies.

CER's motto—'We are a team of mindfully respectful professionals'—reflects its commitment to compassionate care. The nonprofit's mission is to empower individuals through progressive, accessible health care.

The organization continues to grow its services for vulnerable populations. New hires will join a team focused on recovery and respect. Interested practitioners can apply to support CER's expanding behavioural health programmes.
